The UK’s first specialist adult clinic for overgrowth conditions is now available.

As you know, together with our Medical Board, we have been working toward adult centres of expertise for adults with overgrowth conditions.

We are really excited to tell you that the UK’s first specialist adult clinic for overgrowth conditions is now available.

You have told us of the problems when your child is too old for the specialist paediatric services at GOSH and other children’s hospitals and of the pressing need for adult specialist services, we have been working with our Medical Board for the past two years to establish an adult clinic. The clinic will provide access to the varied specialist medical services that Proteus, KT and associated overgrowth conditions need. The clinic is in Bristol, with appointments by GP/hospital referral. At this early stage if you need an appointment, please contact me for referral details, which you can give to your GP.

Those of you for whom Bristol is quite a journey, don’t despair! We are hopeful that further clinics in the Midlands and North West will follow soon - watch this space. In the meantime, Bristol is great for a short break!
